About the position
This is a rewarding career opportunity to work with all levels of the Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care corporate team, as well as our franchisees as they make an impact in communities across the country. As the General Counsel, you will have direct responsibility for all legal matters of Essential Brands, Inc., and its subsidiaries. This position requires a strong understanding of franchise law and general corporate business law. This position is IN-PERSON and based in our Corporate Office located in Abingdon, Maryland.

Qualifications

You are an experienced professional with a broad range of business and commercial/franchise legal experience who has a positive outlook and passion for making an impact. Your Skills and Experience:
- J.D from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law
- Knowledge of franchising, commercials leases, debtor/creditor rights law, child care regulations, and previous in-house counsel is a plus
- Process driven but creative and innovative
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively to achieve business objectives
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, work independently
- Strong professional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization
- Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
