Essential Functions:
- Assists in managing classroom ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
- Provides a welcoming & friendly classroom environment for children, parents & visitors.
- Assists in maintaining attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board that is updated regularly.
- Assists in creating and implementing thorough, timely lesson plans that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with Celebree’s curriculum.
- Assists in managing effective classroom transitions.
- Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels’ children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
- Ensures that appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom is appropriately maintained.
- Assists in completing all classroom paperwork.
- Attends all team meetings, trainings and School events as requested; limits unscheduled absences.
- Presents a positive and professional image at all times adhering to uniform requirements.
- Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings.
- Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom/School and works with the Lead teacher and Director to resolve.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers, and self.
Qualifications
Physical Demands:
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching, lifting, and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.
Education/Experience:
- Be at least 18 years of age; or
- If under 18, must be enrolled in an approved ECE program and be able to provide supporting documentation to verify eligibility.
- Experience in childcare industry preferred.
- Must meet basic requirements of local child-care regulatory agency.
Specific Skills:
- Ability and flexibility in working with various age groups.
- Food Handler Certificate Preferred
- First Aide & CPR Certificate Preferred
- Medication Administration Certificate Preferred
