Assists executive director in planning weekly menu.
Prepares and maintains accurate inventory records.
Maintains a neat, clean, well-organized work area.
Attends yearly USDA meetings to discuss monitoring findings and update nutrition services procedures, Child Care Food Program guidelines, and safety requirements as needed.
Prepares AM snack, lunch, and PM snack daily using USDA nutrition requirements.
Works with the executive director to prepare weekly orders for vendor delivery.
Receives and assists in putting away food promptly to assure quality control.
Provides cold meals for field trips during summer and several times throughout the year.
Maintains standards of sanitation in the kitchen and dining area by daily cleaning and disinfecting.
Ensures the cupboards, counter tops, tables, sinks and floors remain free of food and other items at the end of the day.
Maintains proper storage and control of waste; keeps hot foods hot and cold foods cold and properly heats and cools foods to prevent bacteria growth and food-borne illnesses.
Delivers prepared meals at lunch and snack time into the appropriate classrooms.
Regularly schedules cleaning of pantry area, dry storage, cupboards, refrigerators, and cleaning kitchen cart used to transport food in and out of the kitchen.
Properly rotates all food to keep foods fresh and prevent spoilage.
